ISALA Manifesto

Our mission:

The InternationalistSolidarity Alliance for Latin America (ISALA) is a Marxist-Leninist group that aims to further solidarity with Latin America and its people. Perceived as North America's back yard due to its proximity, the continent has been under threat of U.S. imperialism for decades.

U.S. imperialism is characterised by the international projection of monopoly capital, with sanctions, blockades and political pressure enforcing subordination. Furthermore, as history and current events show us, they do not shy away from using brute force to maintain power over a region, for which Iran is now paying the price.

The current U.S. president Donald Trump publicly advocated for the reinforcement of the Monroe Doctrine, the foreign policy principle that has been plaguing the Americas since its introduction in 1823. The doctrine discourages European interference in the Americas, while establishing the U.S. as the primary influence in the region. This allows the U.S. to act with impunity, under the guise of defending national security.

The possibility of a socialist government that prioritises its own people and growth over U.S. interests is seen as a rebellion to be dismantled. When the Cuban Revolution overthrew the U.S. puppet dictator Batista, legalised the Communist Party and focused on agrarian, education and healthcare reforms, the island was isolated from the rest of the world through sanctions, suffering economic decline and an ongoing humanitarian crisis. When the Brazilian centrist government put forward plans for reforms that would give voting rights to all Brazilians, roll out a literacy program, and begin land reforms, it faced CIA operations, millions of dollars funneled to opposition politicians, and a vicious anti-communist propaganda campaign. When socialist Allende won the 1970 election in Chile in the face of a CIA-backed propaganda campaign against him, the U.S. joined forces with now far-right Brazil to implement Operation Jakarta, an operation of open threats of total annihilation of leftists within the country, coupled with economic sabotage and a plan to kill over ten thousand people. Once General Pinochet succeeded in his coup and had driven Allende to suicide, around three thousand people lost their lives through murder and disappearances. When Hugo Chávez won the Venezuelan election in 1998 and began the process known as the Bolivarian Revolution, the U.S. responded with coup attempts, economic strangulation through sanctions, and, on the 3rd of January 2026, the kidnapping of President Maduro on trumped-up charges of drug trafficking.

History proves the U.S. strategy of subjugating nations that have the audacity to break free of U.S. control. As the threat against Latin America continues, as an organisation we declare our full support to the peoples of Latin America, and their right to maintain the sovereignty that U.S. imperialism seeks to take away. Our support is international in nature; as Che Guevara said in 1965, “There are no borders in this struggle to the death. We cannot be indifferent to what happens anywhere in the world, because a victory by any country over imperialism is our victory, just as any country’s defeat is a defeat for all of us.”

Our solidarity is expressed through:

•Political education rooted in Marxism-Leninism, Chavismo and the revolutionary history and present of Latin America;

•Material solidarity through donations, aid coordination, and community support for those affected by U.S. imperialism;

•Countering propaganda and misinformation by exposing the mechanisms used to divide and conquer Latin America and beyond.

Join or support us!

In solidarity, ISALA

Our every action is a battle cry against imperialism, and a battle hymn for the people's unity against the great enemy of mankind: the United States of America.

– Ernesto “Che” Guevara
